Woman Dies In 500-Foot Fall Free Solo Climbing In Rocky Mountain National Park

Tragedy struck at Rocky Mountain National Park on Sunday as a 26-year-old woman from Boulder, Colorado, lost her life in a fatal incident while engaging in free-solo climbing.

The unfortunate incident occurred when she fell an estimated 500 feet during her ascent of the Four Aces on Blitzen Ridge, situated on the 13,500-foot tall Ypsilon Mountain in the park’s eastern region.

Notably, she was undertaking this challenging climb without the use of ropes or any other form of protective equipment. An individual who was present in the vicinity shared an account on Facebook, mentioning that the young couple had swiftly passed him and his brother while en route to Spectacle Lakes the day prior.
