Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Friday that he believed Democrats are stuck with President Joe Biden on the 2024 ticket, but indicated he was itching to run against California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
DeSantis was being interviewed by Tucker Carlson at the Family Leadership Summit in Des Moines, Iowa, when the former Fox News host asked the GOP hopeful if he thought the president would be on the November 2024 ballot.
DeSantis said he was going “back and forth” on the issue, because incumbent presidents generally do run again, and Biden announced his reelection bid in April.
