All NYC School Safety Agents To Start Wearing NYPD-Issued Bullet-Resistant Vests

School safety agents throughout New York City will be outfitted with bullet-resistant vests as soon as next school year, in an effort by the city’s police department to address the problem increase in youth-on-youth violence.
The addition was first reported by the New York Daily News.
The NYPD said last week that school safety agents, agency employees posted in city schools, will receive a government-issued, “durable and lightweight ballistic resistant vest.”
The decision follow what city officials said was a “very successful” pilot program  in which 300 school safety agents across the city were given vests.
