GOP Rep. To Introduce Legislation To Put Trump On $100 Bill

Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) has said he will be putting forward a proposal to put President Donald Trump’s likeness on the $100 bill, which would memorialize the president on US currency.

Gill told The Post Millennial: “On the day before President Trump addresses the nation, featuring him on the $100 bill is a small gesture of honor to celebrate the promises made, and promises kept, of his presidential legacy. America is truly in the golden age.”

“He took a bullet for this country and is now working overtime to secure our border, fix our uneven trade relationship with the rest of the world, make America energy independent again and put America first by ending useless foreign aid,” the lawmaker said in a statement to Fox News.

He added that switching out Benjamin Franklin on the currency for Trump would be a “small way to honor all he will accomplish these next four years.”

A “preliminary design” of the currency would need to be designed by the treasury secretary and released by the end of 2026 if the bill passes. There would also be a goal to get the currency in circulation by 2029.

The proposed legislation is called the “Golden Age Act” and would amend Section 5114(b) title 31 of the United States Code to say “no $100 note of the United States currency may be printed after December 31, 2028, which does not prominently feature a portrait of Donald J. Trump on the front face of the note.”
