Phoenix Hits 31st Day Of 110 Degrees!

Phoenix, Arizona, experienced its 31st consecutive day of scorching heat, with temperatures reaching at least 110 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday. This prolonged period of extreme heat has led many scientists to believe that July 2023 will go down in history as the Earth’s hottest month ever recorded.
However, forecasters are predicting a potential reprieve from the relentless heat, as thunderstorms are expected to roll in late on Monday. These incoming storms are likely to break the record heat streak on the last day of July. The National Weather Service forecasts that the expected high temperature in Phoenix on July 31 will be 106 degrees Fahrenheit.
The current record for the longest streak of 110-degree days in Phoenix was set in 1974 when the city experienced 18 consecutive days of scorching heat at or above 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The ongoing heatwave has now surpassed that previous record, marking a significant milestone in Phoenix’s climatic history.
