Biden Admin Ripped Over Banning Light Bulbs

Months after a proposed ban on gas stoves triggered strong reactions from consumers and business owners, the Biden administration faces criticism once again for its ban on another common household product, incandescent and halogen light bulbs.
At the end of 2022, the Biden administration announced new energy efficiency standards set by the Department of Energy, prohibiting retailers from selling traditional incandescent and halogen light bulbs. The change aims to promote the use of LED bulbs, with a DOE official asserting that the shift would lead to cost savings on consumers’ energy bills and help in the pursuit of net-zero carbon emissions.
As the ban takes effect this week, critics have taken to social media to voice their opposition, deeming the regulations as an instance of government overreach.
