NBA Player Arrested In California On Gun Charges

Los Angeles Clippers player Amir Coffey is facing legal repercussions following a weekend arrest on a gun charge.
According to TMZ, Coffey was taken into custody during an early Sunday morning traffic stop in Los Angeles after he was allegedly found with a gun. Although he was not driving the vehicle, police reportedly conducted a search after detecting the smell of marijuana, leading to the discovery of the firearm.
As a result, the Clippers guard was arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of a firearm, allegedly admitting that the gun belonged to him. After spending four hours in custody on Sunday morning, he was subsequently released. Coffey is expected to appear in court sometime in August.
