Trump’s Quid Pro Quo Judge: Poured Thousands Into Obama Campaign Before Appointment

The judge assigned to handle special counsel Jack Smith’s 2020 election case against former President Donald Trump has a previous connection to Barack Obama.
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who was appointed by Obama in 2014, contributed approximately $4,300 to Obama’s presidential campaign and victory fund between 2008 and 2012.
Trump now faces new charges related to his alleged efforts to challenge the 2020 election results and incite the Capitol Hill riot on January 6, 2021.
