Bill Barr Offers Reason For Not Naming Hunter Biden Special Counsel

Former U.S. Attorney General William Barr explained why he did not appoint a special counsel for the investigation into Joe Biden’s son.
Barr believed that doing so would have provided justification for the Biden administration to cancel the probe once Biden became president. Barr stated that he had no conflict of interest investigating Hunter Biden and that the decision to appoint a special counsel would have been up to Attorney General Merrick Garland.
Barr expressed his concern that preempting Garland’s decision could have led to the cancellation of the investigation. Once Garland took office, he had the responsibility of ensuring a thorough and fair investigation was conducted.
