Gaetz To Introduce ‘National Prayer In School Act’

Republican Florida Representative Matt Gaetz is set to introduce a piece of legislation on Friday that aims to provide students and staff the freedom to engage in prayer within schools without facing adverse repercussions.
The Daily Caller has obtained an early copy of the proposed legislation, titled the “National Prayer in School Act.” Gaetz unveiled his plan to introduce this bill during Turning Point Action’s 2023 Action Conference in July. The legislation is designed to uphold the Supreme Court’s ruling in June 2022, which supported religious freedom. The Supreme Court sided with a football coach who was dismissed by his school district for exercising his First Amendment right to pray before games.
The “National Prayer in School Act” seeks to establish a framework that permits individuals to participate in prayer while at school.
