Alaska Votes To Ban Biological Males From Girls’ Sports

The Alaska State Board of Education, in a decision on Thursday, gave its approval to a proposal aimed at prohibiting transgender girls from participating in girls’ high school sports teams.
This move represents the advancement of a policy priority advocated by Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy, which faced legislative opposition earlier in the year.
During a special meeting convened on Thursday, board members asserted that the proposal is vital to uphold fairness for cisgender female athletes. The proposal clearly states that “if a separate high school athletics team is established for female students, participation shall be limited to females who were assigned female at birth.”
