Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday he is going to dismiss Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov and taht he will ask parliament later this week to replace him.
Zelensky’s reported replacement is Rustem Umerov, head of Ukraine’s main privatization fund.
The change if completed would be the biggest shakeup of Ukraine’s defense establishment since the country was invadde by Russia in February 2022.
Reznikov has helped secure billions of dollars of Western military aid to help the war effort but been accused of graft related his ministry, accusations he denies.
