Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) effort to repeal the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for Senate pages encountered Democratic opposition and failed on Thursday.
Paul, known for his criticism of pandemic restrictions, sought to pass a resolution through unanimous consent to eliminate the mandate for high school students in the program. However, Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) blocked the move.
“This is obscene, and the Democrat majority should be embarrassed that they are here today telling us that American parents and American families are not smart enough to make their own decisions,” he said in a speech from the Senate floor.
Insightful piece
Excellent write-up
