California Gun Ad Ban Blocked By Federal Appeals Court

A U.S. appeals court has issued a ruling blocking a California law that aimed to limit advertisements of firearms and related products to minors.
The San Francisco-based U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals argued that the law would be unlikely to reduce gun violence or the prevalence of illegal firearms.
The court also expressed concerns about potential infringements on free speech, emphasizing that California already has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation. According to the 34-page ruling, while California has a significant interest in reducing gun violence and the unlawful use of firearms by minors, the law in question does not directly and materially advance these objectives.
