The House Oversight and Accountability Committee is currently seeking clarification and information from Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm concerning her electric vehicle (EV) road trip during the summer.
A letter dated Tuesday and authored by Committee Chairman James Comer of Kentucky outlines the committee’s request for a comprehensive account of the trip, including details about the vehicles used, itineraries, internal and external communications, and any associated costs covered by taxpayers.
Granholm embarked on a four-day EV road trip across the Southeast to advocate for EVs and their role in President Joe Biden’s broader initiatives to revitalize American manufacturing and combat climate change. However, her journey encountered various issues, as reported by NPR earlier in September.
