San Diego Declares Crisis Over Thousands Of Migrants Released By Feds

The San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Tuesday to designate a humanitarian crisis in response to a surge of thousands of undocumented immigrants entering the city, facilitated by the federal government.
County officials reported that over the past two weeks, more than 8,100 migrants have arrived in the region, as outlined in the San Diego Union Tribune. A significant number of these migrants have been released onto the streets of San Diego by the U.S. government, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Supervisor Jim Desmond and Chair Nora Vargas introduced the declaration, which would grant the county the authority to request additional funding from the federal government to address the critical situation.
