All attention is focused on California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) following the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) on Friday. Many are eager to see if he will fulfill his commitment to appoint a Black woman to fill her seat.
In a March 15, 2021 interview with MSNBC host Joy Reid, Newsom was asked if he would contemplate selecting an African American woman to replace then-Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA), as previously reported by Breitbart News.
In response, Newsom stated, “We have multiple names in mind, the answer is yes.”
