DC Metro Train Derails Near Reagan National Airport

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) temporarily halted Metrorail service on the Blue and Yellow lines between two stations due to a train derailment.
The incident transpired between the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Potomac Yard stations, spanning Arlington and Alexandria, Virginia. WMATA announced the suspension of service between these stations on Friday, lasting for approximately two hours.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the derailment. WMATA further communicated via X (formerly known as Twitter) that shuttle buses would operate as replacements for rail service between the two affected stations during the service suspension.
