Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield has died. He was 57.
The pro baseball team announced his death in a statement on Sunday. According to ex-teammate Curt Schilling, Wakefield suffered from brain cancer.
Shilling, a sports announcer and podcaster, faced criticism last week for having said without permission that Wakefield was gravely ill with brain cancer.
