Markle, Winfrey Floated As Long Shots In Newsom’s Tasks To Fill Feinstein Seat

California Gov. Gavin Newsom must appoint a temporary replacement to fill the Senate seat of fellow Democrat Diane Feinstein, following her death Friday.
The governor said said he won’t pick any of the candidates running for the Feinstein seat in 2024. And he said his pick will be a Black female, which limits his choices.
Oprah Winfrey, an actress and TV celebrity, is also a big Democrat candidate donor.
The America-born Californian Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is openly interested in politics and being on the world stage.
A major Democratic donor who is close to Newsom said, “Meghan is definitely a long-shot but in the craziness that is US politics these days it’s not an impossibility. Crazier things have happened,” according to the Daily Mail.
