Trump Teases Visit To Capitol Hill To Stop Feuds Among House Republicans

Former President Donald Trump is reportedly contemplating a visit to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., next week with the intention of potentially uniting the Republican caucus as they prepare to nominate a new speaker of the House.
Trump had previously refrained from intervening significantly when Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) initiated a motion to vacate the speakership, resulting in the removal of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) – a historic event marking the first time in U.S. history that a House speaker has been ousted.
Although Trump had previously affectionately referred to McCarthy as “my Kevin,” his involvement during the situation was limited to advocating against internal discord among Republicans.
