The negotiations to release what as of Sunday is a reported 212-plus hostages held by Hamas are being led by Qatar.
Optimism about the release of hostages, after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel, was bolstered late last week when the terror group released two U.S. hostages – a mother and daughter.
European leaders have also reportedly been pressuring Israel to delay invading Gaza, home for Hamas, to try to get more hostages released.
