Most of the morning-after talk about the LSU-Iowa State women’s NCAA basketball championship game was about at taunt by Tiger player Angel Reese moments after winning the title game.
As Iowa star Caitlin Clark walked off the court, Reese waved her hands in front of her face, then pointed to her ring finger, signifying her team this year would wear the 2022-23 championship ring.
Reese largely defended using the hand wave – the WWE’s I’m so fast “you can’t see me” move – popularized by wrestler John Cena.
She said she wasn’t going to let Clark disrespect teammate Alexis Morris or South Carolina, which Iowa beat in Friday’s Final Four.
Clark waved off South Carolina’s Raven Johnson in that game on defense as if she didn’t have to guard her on the perimeter.
