Car Dealers Push Back On Biden’s Electric Vehicle Plans

In a collective plea, around 4,000 U.S. car dealers are urging President Biden to reevaluate proposed emissions regulations aimed at achieving a goal of two-thirds of new passenger cars being all-electric by 2032.
According to these dealers, consumer interest in electric vehicles (EVs) is lacking, leading to an accumulation of EV inventory on dealership lots.
The group, identifying as “EV Voice of the Consumer,” asserts that neighborhood car dealerships serve as a reliable indicator of consumer sentiment. Their alarm highlights a growing disparity between the supply of EVs and the actual demand from customers.
