Ransomware Attacks Force Emergency Surgeries To Relocate

Multiple hospitals across several states are redirecting patients from their emergency rooms in response to a recent cyberattack on a significant health system.
On Monday, Ardent Health Services, a company that owns hospitals in six states, disclosed that it had fallen victim to a cyber event on Thanksgiving, ultimately identified as a ransomware attack.
In response, Ardent proactively shut down its network, suspending all user access to its information technology applications, including corporate servers, Epic software, internet, and clinical programs, according to a statement released on Monday.
