Jewish groups are pursuing legal action against the University of California system, UC Berkeley, and its leaders, alleging a “longstanding, unchecked spread of anti-Semitism.”
The 36-page lawsuit, filed on Tuesday by the Brandeis Center and Jewish Americans for Fairness in Education, contends that the university and its law school’s failure to address discrimination against Jewish students has resulted in the proliferation of antisemitism, along with incidents of violence and harassment against them.
The complaint cites demonstrations and events on campus following the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel as examples of the alleged discrimination.
