Actor Jonathan Majors Found Guilty Of Assault, Harassment Against Ex-Girlfriend

On Monday, actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty on two of the four counts against him by a nine-person jury.

The charges of misdemeanor assault and harassment were related to a March 25 incident involving Majors and his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, according to Manhattan prosecutors. Following the verdict, the judge issued a new order of protection and scheduled sentencing for Feb. 6.

During the trial, Jabbari testified that she discovered a text from another woman on Majors’ phone, prompting her to grab the device, leading to an alleged physical assault by Majors.

Despite the guilty verdict, Majors, represented by attorney Priya Chaudhry, has consistently maintained his innocence. The actor faces a potential jail sentence of up to one year.

Jabbari, who took the stand for several days during the two-week trial, recounted her feelings of fear and concern throughout their relationship, expressing apprehension that Majors might harm himself if she decided to end the relationship. NBC News has sought comment from Chaudhry regarding the verdict, but no response has been reported.

Majors chose not to testify during the trial, and the sentencing, set for February, will determine the consequences for the actor in light of the guilty verdict on the assault and harassment charges.
