Woman Pretended To Be Waffle House Employee, Worked For Hours Before Stealing Cash

Police in Clayton County, Georgia are currently searching for a woman who allegedly pretended to be a Waffle House employee before stealing cash from the restaurant. The incident occurred on December 12 at around 7 p.m.

According to the Riverdale Police Department, the suspect worked at the 24-hour restaurant for two hours before being seen on surveillance video accessing the register tablet, opening the register, and stealing cash. Although the amount of money taken was not disclosed, a surveillance photo of the woman wearing a bonnet under the chain’s hat was shared by the police department.

It is still unclear how the suspect was able to pose as an employee for two hours without actual employees stepping in. Waffle House has not made any statements regarding the incident. On Wednesday morning, a manager on duty at the restaurant involved stated that she was not there during the alleged incident and did not have any information.

The Riverdale Police Department is urging anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to call the authorities at 770-996-3382.

This incident has raised concerns about the security and safety protocols in place at Waffle House and other fast-food restaurants.
