Three Republican state lawmakers are currently drafting legislation to eliminate President Joe Biden from the ballots in the swing states of Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania. According to Breitbart News, the lawmakers believe that the Democrats have used “lawfare” to attack former President Donald Trump, and they intend to fight back by removing Biden from these critical states’ ballots.
The lawmakers drafting the three bills are Pennsylvania Rep. Aaron Bernstine, Georgia Rep. Charlice Byrd, and Arizona Rep. Cory Mcgarr. The lawmakers’ aim is to prevent Biden from participating in either the Democrat primary or the presidential election, thereby giving the Republicans a considerable advantage in these swing states.
The move by the lawmakers comes after the recent Colorado Supreme Court decision that prevented Trump from appearing on the state’s presidential ballot based on the United States Constitution’s “Insurrection Clause.” However, the three Republican lawmakers maintain that Biden is also ineligible to run for office based on the Democrats’ justification for removing Trump from the ballot.
The legislators argue that Biden’s alleged corrupt family business dealings with China and his actions at the southern border constitute an “insurrection” and could disqualify him from running for political office. They believe that the Democrats’ attempts to remove Trump from the ballot in Colorado set a dangerous precedent that could be used against any candidate, including Biden.
The lawmakers said in a statement to Breitbart News, “Democrats’ insane justification to remove Trump can just as easily be applied to Joe Biden for his ‘insurrection’ at the southern border and his alleged corrupt family business dealings with China.” They added, “To be clear, our objective is to showcase the absurdity of Colorado’s decision and allow ALL candidates to be on the ballot in all states. To do that, we must fight back as Republicans against the communists currently running our great country.”
Moreover, Texas Republicans had previously threatened to take action against Biden with regard to his open border policies; however, no action was taken. The three Republican lawmakers are creating legislation that will challenge the existing political opposition and showcase the Republican forefront’s strength.
