A Chinese national in the U.S. illegally was arrested late last week after driving onto a Marine Corps base in California and refusing to leave, U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed.
Border Patrol agents confirmed to a local news outlet that the Chinese national was arrested Wednesday after entering onto the base in Twentynine Palms.
Agents also confirmed that the man was not in the United States legally.
“His purpose & intent behind his actions are still being investigated,” USBP Chief Patrol Agent Gregory K. Bovino wrote on the social media platform X.
