There have been years of speculation about the proposed show following the massive success of the film franchise and spinoffs, which raked in upwards of $9.1 billion in revenue.
Per Deadline, HBO Max and then-parent company WarnerMedia started discussing a potential “Harry Potter” TV series years ago and appointed Kids, Young Adult and Classics president Tom Ascheim to manage the franchises.
This included theme parks, tours, and the “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” properties.
