Writer Hoped To Debunk San Francisco Narrative; Realizes It Actually Is A Hellhole

Journalist Elizabeth Weil had hoped to write a story for New York Magazine stating that all of the stories about dystopian San Francisco had been blown out of proportion.
Instead, Weil had to admit that all of the doom-and-gloom stories about San Francisco were accurate, perhaps even understated.
Tech companies and workers have fled downtown San Francisco as crime and homelessness grow exponentially, with no plans to address those issues.
