In an unhinged rant Monday, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said he wants the United Nations to declare May 15 is a day each year to call Israel’s founding a “catastrophe.”
Abbas also compared Israel, the only stable democracy in the Middle East, to Nazi Germany, claiming that “Israel lies ‘like Goebbels.’”
While Abbas’ words were over the top, he knew he would find a receptive audience at the UN, which long has maintained a bias against Israel.
