Florida prosecutors have officially announced their intent to seek the death penalty for Oscar Adrian Solis Jr., a member of the MS-13 gang, who stands accused of the gruesome decapitation of an Uber Eats driver. The details of the case have revealed that the innocent victim had been subjected to a brutal attack, enduring 35 stab wounds.
State Attorney Bruce Bartlett filed a “notice to seek the death penalty” against Solis on Friday. On the same day, Solis was indicted on charges of first-degree murder and abuse of a dead human body, both of which are considered felonies, according to court records.
In listing the aggravated circumstances justifying the pursuit of capital punishment, it was emphasized that the committed crime was exceptionally heinous, atrocious, and cruel in nature. The prosecution intends to pursue the harshest penalty for this act of extreme violence.
