An Old Navy store in downtown San Francisco will close this summer, parent company Gap Inc. said Friday
A company spokesperson said the Old Navy store on Market Street will close July 1 once its lease expires.
The company also said the decision was made after an evaluation of its real estate portfolio and to “ensure … the best possible experience for our customers.”
Other businesses in the city have also closed amid ongoing problems with homelessness, drug addiction and crime, including shoplifting.
Nordstrom is closing two of its downtown San Francisco stores, citing the “dynamics” of the downtown market.
GAP Inc. said it is exploring new downtown locations for Old Navy.
