NY Democrats, Republicans Alike Decry CUNY Grad’s ‘Hate-Filled’ Commencement Speech

New City Democrat Mayor Eric Adams is among the latest to decry a CUNY law school graduate’s “hate-filled” commencement speech.
The mayor also said Wednesday that he’d have denounced the comments on stage had he heard them.
The comments were made May 12 by law grad Fatima Mousa Mohammed.
Adams was at the public college’s commencement ceremony but left before the comments were made.
Mohammed called for a “revolution” to rid the legal system of “white supremacy” while ripping the NYPD and claiming Israel carries out “indiscriminate” murder.
Meanwhile, state GOP lawmaker are calling for CUNY to be defunded over the incident.
Republican state legislators on Thursday demanded Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul withhold taxpayer funds from any City University of New York campus that allows incendiary rhetoric at school-sponsored events.
