‘Walk To The Podium’

Documents prepared by staff for President Joe Biden ahead of public events was provided to Axios on Sunday, showing what one unnamed staffer described as “detailed verbal and visual instructions on how to enter and exit a room.”

Biden continues to face pressure from within his party over his performance at the first CNN presidential election debate+ with Donald Trump and his subsequent interview with NBC’s George Stephanopoulos on Friday.

On Sunday, Axios reported on documents prepared for Biden ahead of events that included some extremely basic instructions “with large print and photos that include his precise path to a podium.” The article includes two screenshots of the documents.

“Since the June 27 debate, some Democrats who’ve attended and helped set up Biden events have wondered whether his team’s focus on minute details were to obscure the 81-year-old president’s limitations — rather than just a reflection of a meticulous staff,” Axios reports.

An unnamed staffer told the outlet that, at “a simple fundraiser at a private residence” the president’s staff and handlers “treated it like it was a NATO summit with his movements.”

“”It surprised me that a seasoned political pro like the president would need detailed verbal and visual instructions on how to enter and exit a room,” the staffer said.
