WNBA star Brittney Griner, who recently returned to play after having been jailed by Russian authorities on a drug charge, was confronted by a “provocateur” at a Dallas airport on Saturday, the league said.
Other players on the Phoenix Mercury teammates also were confronted, the WNBA also said.
The WNBA said it was looking into the team’s run-in with a “social media figure” whose “actions were inappropriate and unfortunate.”
