FBI Creates Swatting Database After Surge In Cases

The FBI has established a national database to monitor the increasing incidents of swatting across the country, as revealed by recent information provided by the law enforcement agency.

The FBI stated in a statement to ABC News, “In response to the national call on swatting, the FBI initiated the Virtual Command Center (VCC) known as the National Common Operation Picture (NCOP).”

Swatting, commonly referred to as a prank call, involves falsely reporting an active shooter or an immediate dangerous situation, with the intention of provoking a substantial police response, often leading to the deployment of a SWAT team.
