As civic pride experiences a decline, accompanied by a decrease in military recruitment and a diminishing number of individuals expressing pride in their American identity, Ramaswamy launched this scholarship initiative. Recent presidential polls have placed him third among the candidates.
To commemorate his son’s first birthday, Ramaswamy, together with his spouse Apoorva, pledged a substantial sum to establish a new scholarship program that seeks to nurture a sense of national pride among young Americans. In a Twitter announcement, Ramaswamy highlighted concerning statistics, such as the mere 16% of Generation Z stating their pride in being American, and the fact that 60% of teens on TikTok would willingly sacrifice their right to vote rather than lose access to their social media accounts.
