4 In 10 Californians Consider Fleeing State

According to a recent survey, nearly half of the participants (46%) expressed difficulties in saving money or covering unexpected expenses while managing their day-to-day expenses, marking a 6-percentage point increase since April 2022.

Approximately 35% of respondents reported living comfortably, while 18% stated they find it challenging to make ends meet each month.

The survey also indicated that over 40% of California residents are contemplating leaving the state, with nearly half of them considering the decision “very seriously.” Of those considering relocation, about 61% cited the high cost of living in California as the primary reason for their potential departure.
