The Biden administration is issuing a blanket waiver for international banks to transfer $6 billion in frozen Iranian money, as part of large deal in which the rouge nation will release five U.S. citizens detained in Iran and the U.S. will release five Iranian citizens.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken signed the deal late last week ,but Congress reportedly was not informed about the waiver until Monday.
The sides recently agreed in principal to the deal, but not until Monday to the adminnistration say was releasing five Iranian prisoners as part of the deal.
