Lawmakers are furiously pushing back on a last-minute alcohol proposal by the Biden administration just before Donald Trump’s inauguration.
In the waning days of Joe Biden’s administration, the chief medical doctor of the country is advising that cancer warning labels be added to alcohol containers.
Currently, alcohol containers are mandated only to put warning labels that explain the risks to pregnant women. Murthy’s new proposal would mean that alcohol companies would need to update their containers with additional signage.
When DailyMail.com pressed lawmakers this week about the Biden administration’s new label advisory many agreed alcohol poses many problems, but they were skeptical the new branding would work.
“This has been an incredibly destructive administration for four years, and they’re demonstrating in their last month or last three weeks that they’re going to firebomb everything on the way out the door,” Wyoming Republican Rep. Harriet Hageman said of the proposal.
