Alex Murdaugh’s Defense To Seek New Trial Based On Alleged Discovered Evidence

Lawyers for convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh are expected to file a motion seeking a new trial after allegedly uncovering evidence of jury tampering, two sources familiar with the decision told NBC News.
Attorneys Richard “Dick” Harpootlian and Jim Griffin are expected to announce their findings Tuesday afternoon, coming six months after a jury found Murdaugh, 55, guilty of two counts of murder in the fatal shootings of his wife, Margaret, 52, and their youngest son, Paul, 22, in June 2021.
The sources also said at least two of the jurors have hired lawyers.
