Americans Fleeing Blue States, Illinois Leads Exodus

Illinois has retained its position as the state with the highest outbound migration for the fourth consecutive year, according to a recent report from Allied Van Lines, a moving company.
The report indicates that residents are departing Illinois due to challenges such as high taxes, crime, and a sluggish economy.
From 2019 onwards, Illinois has consistently recorded more outbound moves than inbound moves through Allied Van Lines’ services, as detailed in the company’s latest U.S. Migration report. Over the past four years in Illinois, over 65% of all interstate relocations have involved residents leaving the state, while less than 35% have seen people moving into Illinois.
