The box office sensation “Barbie” lost it spot this weekend as the top box office draw in North America, coming in second to the DC superhero film “Blue Beetle.”
“Blue Beatle” had a modest opening, $25.4 million, according to studio estimates Sunday, but the amount was enough to narrow defeat “Barbie,” which took in $21.5 million in its fifth weekend.
Barbie is nevertheless the highest grossing Warner Bros. release ever domestically.
