Biden, McCarthy Talk By Phone, To Meet Monday

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Sunday that he and President Joe Biden will meet in person Monday to discuss raising the nation’s debt limit, amid slow-moving negotiations.
The announcement also came as Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warns the U.S. will default on debt if a deal is not reach by early next month.
McCarthy and Biden spoke by phone as the president was flying back from a trip to Japan for a G7 summit and which he suggest to world leaders the GOP is making so un-negotiable proposals in the deal.
McCarthy said the call was “productive.”
