Buoyed By Net-Zero Fundraising Report This Weekend, Santos announces Reelection Bid

Embattled freshman New York GOP Rep. George Santos on Monday announced he’ll seek a second term.
Santos’ announcement follows the Federal Election Commission’s first-quarter fundraising deadline, which showed Santos spent nothing from campaign coffers but still lost money because it had to refund donors.
Santos ran into trouble after he won office in November 2022, upon the discovery he fabricated much of his life resume.
“I’ve been in office for 100 days, and through legislation and my votes, I’ve already made significant efforts to honor those promises,” said Santos, who filed last month to run for reelection and has resisted calls to resign.
