The city of Wildwood, located on the coastal region of New Jersey, unanimously approved an ordinance on Thursday that prohibits the possession of alcohol on the beach and boardwalk in preparation for the upcoming summer season.
Wildwood, a popular destination on the Jersey Shore, is renowned for its Fourth of July fireworks display and its array of beachfront attractions, including amusement piers featuring over 100 rides and entertainment options.
In an official statement, the city announced that Mayor Pete Byron, Deputy Mayor Krista Fitzsimons, and Commissioner of Public Safety Steve Mikulski introduced the stricter legislation during a meeting of the Wildwood Commissioners on May 10.
