Calif. State Of Emergency With Winter Storm Bringing Nearly 6 Inches Of Rain

California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency on Sunday for eight counties in the southern part of the state, including Los Angeles.

The declaration comes in response to an impending winter storm that is expected to bring record-breaking levels of rainfall and snowfall. In addition to Los Angeles, the affected counties include Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.

The state of emergency also facilitates the allocation of resources and the deployment of the California National Guard to assist with potential emergencies.
